Our mission is to improve the health and lives of mothers and babies by: improving birth outcomes; increasing exclusive breastfeeding rates; better identifying perinatal mood and anxiety disorders; increasing referrals for treatment of women with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders; providing new families with education and resources; maintaining a safe place where new families can gather for mutual support Informed and empowered parents raise healthy children who grow into secure adults committed to community-building. We honor the diversity of families in our community and recognize that individual circumstances will always shape what decisions a family needs to make.

Thank you for sharing this post! I posted this a while back: http://bloomingtonbirth.org/blog/2011/11/07/my-week-of-pregnancy/ and think that the more women can be open about these experiences the better we will all be able to understand the ups and downs of pregnancy and childbirth.

I'm sorry for your experience and hope you have success in the near future.

I was quite the pee-on-a-stick-er myself. The dollar store right by BABS has pregnancy tests...might as well save some money! Good luck!

I show my son I love him by putting him in cloth diapers. He had horrible reactions to disposables and the solution just happens to be earth friendly as well.

One of the many ways I show my love for my family in an earth-friendly way is by planting a garden and providing food from it (and the farmer's market) as much as possible.

I show my family the love by making sure everything that we pack for lunches is trash-less. I buy big containers of snacks and separate them out into reusable containers, send them with drinks in reusable cups, and they each get a special cloth napkin. :) For Valentine's Day I will be making heart shaped snacks instead of buying something from the store.

I'm a big recycling advocate and go out of my way to make sure I recycle as much as possible. And when baby comes in a few weeks, we'll be cloth diapering!

The way I show love to my family on Valentines Day, in a earth friendly way... is to celebrate at home, saving on fossil fuels. A table decorated with potted flowering plants; red, pink, and white themed cotton tablecloths and napkins; candle light; and lastly heart shaped pancakes with real maple syrup. Showing your love can be inexpensive, reusable, and romantic.
