The BABS Lactation Center offers a wide range of breastfeeding services, including: consultations with lactation consultants, breastfeeding education, and more. Fees are determined by income, appointments are necessary. The Lactation Center is open Monday through Friday. Please call 335-MILK(6455) to schedule an appointment.
Appointments Available:
Initial Postpartum Consultation: Full consultation with history, assessment, weight check and plan of action.
Follow-Up Consultation: To make sure plan from consultation is going as expected. Includes weight check.
Pumping Consultation: To develop a personalized plan for returning to work or school while pumping/nursing. Includes pump flange fitting and pump check with a suction gauge. Please bring your pump and all pump parts.
Prenatal Consultation: To address particular concerns a woman might have; especially appropriate for mothers expecting multiples, women with breast surgeries, special medication concerns or women who have had challenges with previous breastfeeding experiences.
Pre-Adoption Consultation: This is a planning meeting for women who are interested in inducing lactation.

Making It Work for Nursing Mothers: A Pumping Class
Workplace Consultations: On-site evaluation of workplace lactation support and infrastructure by certified lactation consultant and workplace lactation specialist. We will work with businesses to provide materials and a plan for initiating or improving workplace programs and policies. Educational classes and consultations for employees are provided.
